1.4 Posted by Drew on the 6th August 2008 at 01:04 AM The forums are back open. The reason for the closure was because I was upgrading to 1.4. It wasn't a smooth transition like I had hoped for either, the old theme I had created numerous problems all over place. So, after trying to update the old theme, I figured it would probably be easier to just download and edit a new one specifically designed for 1.4, but of course, they only had about 15 themes or so (most all the same, just different colors). I was a bit distraught over that, but I downloaded one anyway. Well, after some heavy editing I was able to turn this into a replica of the old theme. Thankfully I was able to do so with only generating minor differences. Please note: some things may still look 'bad' in some places because I'm not done editing it yet... I didn't want to keep you locked out of the forum though. If you see anything you don't like, then make a reply here and I'll try to change it. Most of my main plugins I use are still here, thankfully. However, the shoutbox is disabled for now; I'll have it back up in the next day or so. Anyway, express your (I don't care if it's forced) joy. Hold tight while I finish modifying a few things such as the welcome_block, because I don't really like it. You can gaze at the new smilies while I do that. I've been meaning to add something like this for a while now, but never got around to it. Anyway, I'll be posting some reviews there when I find time to write one. To start it off, I've added a Grabbed by the Ghoulies review written by yours truly - you can find it right here. Any user who would like to submit a review can do so (that'd be great). Unless this is your first time visiting or something, then you'll be quick to notice that the site looks significantly different than it did a couple days ago. And that is hopefully a good thing on your part. After a brief closure, Banjo Universe is back with an entirely new layout and looking better than ever! At least I hope that's how you feel about it ... Whatever your opinion may be, please comment. Anyway, I still have some minor quirks to tweak here and there, but they're nothing to obsess over - it's not like they're noticeably glaring you in the face or anything. (I hope.) Hopefully the site displays correctly for you. After testing it over at Browsershots it appears to look fine in most browsers. If your browser is up to date then it should render the site correctly, however in certain browsers there may be noticeable (annoying) problems - this shouldn't happen if you're using the latest version of Firefox or Safari though. Later versions of Opera will screw the site up extensively, but I don't believe this will happen if you're using the latest version. That's about it for that ... As far as content goes I have yet to update several of the pages, but they're on the agenda I can assure you. I realize I have a habit of saying I'll do something and then never doing it, which is bad. That shouldn't happen this time, but if anyone would like to submit anything to site to help me out, please do not hesitate to do so. I even made a forum for it if you're interested. On a brighter note, Nuts & Bolts news at E3 was quite plentiful, but you've no doubt heard all about that by now. The release of BK on the XBL Arcade with SnS included is amazing and fairly interesting. Gives you many things to ponder about. I don't know about you, but I'll definitely be replaying BK again come this November. :) Before I end this (or forget to mention), we have a new affiliate in the form of a wiki. With hundreds of articles covering many aspects of the BK universe, I'm sure you'd love to take a moment of your time to scurry your eyes across their pages. Check them out here.
